An update from Henry-Senachwine Schools. The water line at HSGS/JH has been fixed and school for both HSGS/JH and HSHS will resume as normal tomorrow, Thursday, April 27, 2023. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Today is Administrative Professionals Day. Thank you to our administrative professionals - Stephanie, Karen, Lisa, Tricia, Angie, and Chrissy. We truly appreciate everything you do for the students, staff, and schools!

School at HSGS/JH and HSHS is cancelled for today, Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
Due to a water line break at HSGS/JH that has left the building without water until repaired, school has been cancelled for today (4/26) at both HSGS/JH and HSHS. All Pre-K classes are cancelled. Athletic events and extracurriulars remain scheduled for this afternoon. The following bus routes are still running today: ACC classes, Kiefer, Hall, BEST, Safe School.

Today's JV Baseball game for today vs Dwight High School has been cancelled in anticipation of the strong storms predicted to come our way around 3:00 p.m.

A bus transportation update from Henry-Senachwine Schools:
Beginning this Wednesday, March 1st, students picked up at the in-town Barney/Bryan intersection will be riding Bus D until further notice.

Congratulations to the HSHS Scholastic Bowl Team. They placed 3rd in Saturday's Tri-County Conference Meet. Waylon Lindstrom led the Mallards with 17 tossups and Ben Meachum had 16. Both Waylon and Ben were also named to the All-Conference team.

Due to the weather forecasted for this evening, all school athletic and extracurricular games, events and practices are cancelled for this afternoon and evening. This includes tonight’s HSHS boys’ basketball game and “Project Success” at HSGS/JH .
School will dismiss at its normal time today.

The FCCLA and Art Club collaborated on a community outreach project to raise funds for the local food pantry. Art Club members decorated bowls that will be filled with a dry soup mix created by the FCCLA.
Hand-decorated bowls and soup mix will be auctioned at the Boys Basketball home game tonight! JV Tips at 5:30 with Varsity to follow.


This week is National School Counseling Week and HSHS has one of the best. Thank you Mrs. Self for all that you do for our students, school, and district. Thank you for helping all our students dream big and all our students succeed.


A bus transportation update from Henry-Senachwine Schools for tomorrow morning, Friday, January 27, 2023:
For tomorrow morning:
Bus Route A - Putnam/Thunderbird area students will be picked up 25-30 minutes early.
Bus Route A & Route B - In-town students will be picked up by different school buses at approximately the same time and the same bus stop as usual.
Tomorrow afternoon’s bus schedule will run as normal

School buses may be running a few minutes late today, due to the viewing of the school play and a later dismissal.

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) will be presenting information regarding basic financial assistance for attending college on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the HSHS Media Center.
You don't want to miss this very informative presentation which will include basic information about how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and how financial aid works from federal, state, and private institutions. The 2023-2024 FAFSA opened on October 1, 2022 for students attending a post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2023. Completing the FAFSA is a graduation requirement.
