Henry-Senachwine High School Government Teacher, Alexa Damerell took a handful of students (Andon McQuade, Harper Schrock, Daniel Hill, and Alexia Serpette) to participate in State Senator Thomas Bennett's Fall 2023 Youth Advisory Council at the Eagle Performing Arts and Conference Center in Pontiac, Illinois on Wednesday, December 6th.

Scholastic Bowl kicked off their season Saturday with four of our HSHS members participating in the Mike Hendricks Memorial tournament at Blue Ridge High School against 7 other teams. HSHS finished 3-4 on the day with individual awards presented to Ben Meachum (3rd overall) and Waylon Lindstrom (5th overall) on the All-Tournament Team based on individual toss-up scores. #GoMallardsHSHS!

Congratulations MacKenzie Hartwig! She was chosen as the ACC student of the month for November. Pictured with her is (L to R), Lynne Pohar (RN), Kirk Ross, MacKenzie Hartwig, and Jan Phalen. Kirk and Jan represent First State Bank who are sponsoring the ACC students of the month. MacKenzie was chosen for her exceptional performance, both Academically (A+), and for her excellent skill sets (bed side manner, taking of vital signs, and the other 21 CNA skills).
MacKenzie was awarded a yard sign, gift card, Yeti Mug and other First State items, as well as an ACC certificate and medallion.

Congrats Abbie Stanbary! Abbie Stanbary has been named the Henry-Senachwine High School November Student of the month. Abbie is the daughter of Joe and Jo Beth Stanbary. Abbie was selected from a group of students nominated and selected by the faculty and staff.

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) will be presenting information regarding basic financial assistance for attending college on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the high school.
You don't want to miss this very informative presentation which will include basic information about how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and how financial aid works from federal, state, and private institutions. The 2024-2025 FAFSA is projected to be available in December 2023 for students attending a post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2024. Completing the FAFSA is a graduation requirement.
