Grey Thompson has been named the November Student of the Month at Henry-Senachwine High School. Grey is the  son of Dan and Melissa Thompson. Grey was nominated and selected by the Henry-Senachwine faculty and staff. Grey is a senior at HSHS and is very involved in the school and student life. Grey has been a High Honor Roll student all four years. He is a National Honor Society member, Student Council member and Class Officer, currently serving as Treasurer for both organizations.  Grey has participated in: FBLA, one year; FCCLA, one year; Fellowship for Christian Athletes, one year; Math Team, two years; and Red Krush, four years, currently serving as the President. During the last four years, Grey has been a member of the Baseball Team as well as the Band and Pep Band where he plays percussion. 

Outside of school, Grey has volunteered 260 plus hours to date with River Valley Players, video recording HSHS boys basketball games, assisting in the HSHS weight room renovation, as well as Henry’s city wide clean up days. Grey has worked full time the past three summers at Sisler’s Ice in production and delivery.

After high school, Grey plans to attend ICC or IVCC and then transfer to a four-year university majoring in Business.

On Wednesday, November 14, 2022, at the school board meeting, Grey will be presented with an engraved pen set from the Henry-Senachwine Education Association and a personalized plaque from the district designating him as "Student of the Month." In addition, he will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Heartland Bank in Henry and a $25.00 gift card from MidAmerica National Bank in Henry.
