Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student. The Henry-Senachwine chapter, as well as the 16,000+ chapters in schools across the nation, strives to give practical meaning to the Society's standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership is more than just an honor. It incurs a responsibility and an obligation to consistently demonstrate the qualities the Society is based upon. Students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 were invited to apply for membership in the HSHS chapter. The application process included demonstrated evidence of the four qualities, as well as a written essay. Of the applicants, HSHS was proud to offer membership to ten students in the current Junior class. At an induction ceremony held on Wednesday, April 27 in the HSHS Media Center, the current Senior class members of NHS were host to the ten inductees as well as their families, and led the ceremony to formally welcome the new students into the HSHS chapter. The Junior class inductees include: Alannah Lester, Amsal Jakupi, Anna Rediger, Catherine Miller, Gabriella Garcia, Grey Thompson, Kristopher Lee, Logan Serpette, Mason Johnson, and Mikayla Frawley. Existing Senior class members include: Abigail Miller, Brooke Ulm, Dayton Maubach, Ella Bergfeld, Georgia Sharwarko, Hope Self, Nakeita Kessling, and Ryan Bogner. The HSHS NHS Chapter Adviser is Ms. Deanne Crook.
