March SOM

Dayton Maubach has been named the Henry-Senachwine March Student of the Month. Dayton is the daughter of Tammy Maubach. Dayton was selected from a group of students nominated by and voted on by the faculty and staff. 

 Dayton is currently a senior at HSHS and is very involved in the school and in student life. Dayton has been a Honor Roll student all four years at HSHS and is a member of the National Honor Society (Vice President). She is the Class of 2022 Treasurer and has had this role for all four years of her high school career. Dayton has participated in: Cheerleading (2021-2022 Captain), Club Green, FBLA (Public Relations Officer/2021-2022 President), FCCLA, LMAC, Mallard Ensemble, Musical Theater, Red Krush, and Student Council (2020-2021, 2021-2022 Reporter). 

Outside of school, Dayton has been involved in: Illini Girls State, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership, 2022 JStaff, Marshall-Putnam-Stark Show Choir, Miss Teen OSA, River Valley Player Musical Theater and Vacation Bible School.

After high school, Dayton plans to attend Illinois State University and major in Early Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. Dayton would like to teach Kindergarten after college.

On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the Henry-Senachwine Board of Education Meeting, Dayton will be presented with an engraved pen set from the Henry-Senachwine Education Association and a personalized plaque from the district designating her as "Student of the Month." In addition, she will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Heartland Bank in Henry, $25.00 gift card from MidAmerica National Bank in Henry, and a $10.00 savings bond from the Henry Dairy Queen.

The student body, faculty, and community congratulate Dayton on receiving this honor in recognition of her accomplishments and contributions at HSHS!
