FAFSA- Date Change (Now Oct. 13th)

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) will be presenting information regarding basic financial assistance information for attending college on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 beginning at 6:30p.m. in the HSHS Media Center.

You don't want to miss this very informative presentation which will include basic information about how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)  and how financial aid works from federal, state, and private institutions. The 2022-2023 FAFSA went live October 1, 2021 for students attending a post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2022.

For seniors who qualify for merit scholarships, it is important that you apply before the priority deadline for the school to be eligible for such money.

For younger students, financial planning should begin now by doing the best you can in school. Following are links to area schools who have visited HSHS that offer scholarship money based on academic merit. This means getting a good GPA and/or a good ACT/SAT score can earn you scholarship money to attend the university of your choice. If a school you are looking to attend is not listed below simply search "[name of school] merit scholarships".
