Graduation

May 27, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians of Graduating Seniors

Congratulations to you and your senior student upon his/her upcoming graduation from Henry-Senachwine High School. I am very proud of the Class of 2021. These students continue to achieve and impress in spite of the challenges they have faced both last year and this year.

This year’s graduation ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, May 30th at 2:00 p.m. in the John C. Anderson Gymnasium at Henry-Senachwine High School. Unfortunately, due to current Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines, attendance will be limited. Each graduating senior will be given SIX tickets for their guests to observe the ceremony in person. These tickets will be distributed during graduation practice. The event will also be live streamed for friends and family to view from home.

All seniors planning to participate in the graduation ceremony are required to attend graduation practice on Friday, May 28th at 10:00 a.m. Seniors should report to the Auditorium.

Caps and gowns were distributed to seniors in April. If problems exist with your student’s cap and/or gown, please call Jostens at 309-691-9081 as soon as possible to get any issues rectified before Sunday, May 30th.

Seniors should pay all outstanding fines, fees, lunch balances, and obligations in the Henry-Senachwine High School Office prior to graduation practice on Friday, May 28th. Any student still owing for an obligation will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony on graduation day.

Please remind your student that graduation exercises are a formal event so graduates should be dressed appropriately. Blue jeans, shorts, tennis shoes, or accessory clothing that detracts from the dignity of graduation is not appropriate attire and should not be worn. Messages on caps or signs of any kind are not permitted. Students dressing or behaving inappropriately may not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 30th. Everyone must have a ticket to enter. Masks are required.
