On Wednesday, January 21st Marquis Energy sponsored a luncheon at Henry-Senachwine High School for all mentors and mentees in the Marquis Energy mentoring program. Marquis Energy sponsors a mentoring program to help students in the area learn about goal setting. Henry-Senachwine High School is participating in it's 8th year in the program. Students apply to the program and, if selected, are paired with an adult mentor in the building and asked to set two SMART Goals for the semester. The mentor and mentee meet weekly for 30 minutes to evaluate progress towards the goal. Students who attended all of their meetings earned $100, students who met one goal and attended all of their meetings received $300, and students who met both goals and attended all of their meetings received $600. HSHS had 24 students meet at least one of their goals during the Fall semester. HSHS had fourteen mentors sign up to help mentor students during this time as well. Marquis Energy donated a total of $26,500 to HSHS this year.
