W Lindstrom Oct SOM

Waylon Lindstrom has been named the October Student of the Month at Henry-Senachwine High School. Waylon was selected from a group of students nominated by the faculty and staff. He is the son of Kimberely Hobson and Aaron Lindstrom.

Waylon is a senior at HSHS and very involved in the school as well as student life. He has been a High Honor Roll student during Freshman and Junior year as well as a Honor Roll student his Sophomore year. He is a National Honor Society member and received academic honors for Spanish I and Math IV. Waylon has been involved in Student Council and has been the Class of 2026 Treasurer all four years. He has participated in Band, Solo and Ensemble, Jazz Band, FBLA, FCA, HSHS Gives Back, HSHS Industrial Arts Club, MAC, MDWAP, Robotics, Scholastic Bowl, and Welding Team. Waylon has also participated in Baseball, Basketball, and Bass Fishing.

Outside of school, Waylon is involved in multiple 4-H clubs including: Federation, Saratoga Leadaways, State Trap Shoot Team, Marshall/Putnam Ambassador, Robotics. He is also involved with the Good News Bearers Puppet Team and attended Illinois Premier Boys State. Waylon works part-time at Henry Ace Hardware.

Waylon plans to attend the University of Illinois to major in Aerospace Engineering. 

At the Henry-Senachwine Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Waylon will be presented with an engraved pen set from the Henry-Senachwine Education Association and a personalized plaque from the school district designating him as "October Student of the Month." He will also receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Heartland Bank in Henry and a $25.00 gift card from MidAmerica National Bank in Henry.
