Lauren Harbison has been named the Henry-Senachwine High School May Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Aaron and Julie Harbison. Lauren was nominated, then selected, from a group of students by the HSHS faculty and staff.

Lauren is a senior at HSHS and is actively involved in the school and student life. She has been an Honor Roll student all four years of high school and is a National Honor Society member. Lauren has participated in: FBLA, one year; FCA, four years; HSHS Gives Back, four years; MAC, four years; MDWAP, two years; Student Council, four years; and Yearbook, one year. All four years,  Lauren has participated in Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball.

Outside of school, Lauren volunteers with The ARK, Rotary Pancake Breakfast, Choose Joy events, Extra Love events, Vacation Bible School, and the Marshall-Putnam Fair. She is currently playing on a travel Softball team, the USSSA Illinois Valley Aftershock.

After high school, Lauren will attend Illinois Valley Community College to continue her academic and athletic career. She has received a full athletic scholarship and will play Volleyball and Softball for IVCC.

On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Henry-Senachwine Board of Education Meeting, Lauren will be presented with an engraved pen set from the Henry-Senachwine Education Association and a personalized plaque from the school district designating her as "Student of the Month." In addition, she will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Heartland Bank in Henry and a $25.00 gift card from MidAmerica National Bank in Henry.

The student body, faculty and staff, and community congratulate Lauren on receiving this honor in recognition of her accomplishments and contributions at HSHS!
