Nicolas Yee has been named the April Student of the Month at Henry-Senachwine High School. He is the son of Mariano and Kimberly Yee. Nico was nominated and selected by the Henry-Senachwine High School faculty and staff.

Nico, a senior at HSHS, is very involved in the school as well as with student activities. He has been a Honor Roll student for four years, a National Honor Society member, and Boys State delegate. Nico has participated in FCA for four years, FCCLA for one year, FBLA for four years, MAC/Red Krush for four years, and Student Council for three years. He also has been a member of the Cross Country and Basketball teams for four years, the Baseball team for three years, and Track team for two years.

Outside of school, Nico has been a volunteer for the Visualiza Eye Clinic in Guatemala, MSW Projects, St. Jude Run, Henry Rotary Pancake Breakfast, Henry Red Stocking Fund, River Valley Players, LETR Polar Plunge, Henry American Legion dinners, and Marshall-Putnam Fair. He is a member of the Henry Community Youth Group.

After high school, Nico plans to continue school to become a Physical Education teacher.

Nico will be recognized at the Wednesday, April 24, 2024 Board of Education Meeting where he will be presented with a personalized plaque. In addition, he will be presented with an engraved pen set from the Henry-Senachwine Education Association, a $25.00 gift certificate from Heartland Bank in Henry, and a $25.00 gift card from MidAmerica National Bank in Henry.
