On Sunday, January 21st, the Henry-Senachwine High School cheerleading squad traveled to Knoxville, Illinois to take part in the Knoxville Invitational Cheerleading Competition. It had been several years since the HSHS cheer program participated in competitive events so for all 13 girls, this experience was a first. Entered in the Game Day division, the team would be assessed on their ability to get the crowd engaged and energized. The squad worked hard in the weeks leading up to the competition. Loud and energetic, they hit every stunt in their 1-minute floor cheer and made all the Mallard fans in the crowd very proud! Awards were limited to first-place only in each division and while they didn't come home with that trophy, they still had much to be proud of. With the HSHS boys' basketball program winding down, be sure to come out to one of the remaining home games to see this talented squad in action. Go Mallards!
