A message from Henry-Senachwine Schools: Due to the continued heat as we end this week, Henry-Senachwine Schools will release at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday (Aug. 26) and Friday (Aug. 27). Breakfast will still be served in the morning, but lunch will not be served on these days. Morning preschool classes will attend on Thursday and dismiss at 11:00 a.m. Afternoon preschool classes will not attend on Thursday. On Friday, there is no preschool for morning or afternoon classes.

Welcome back, students! We are all excited to see you tomorrow, on the first day of school!

Wednesday, August 18th is the First Day Of School! Classes begin at 8:25 a.m. (unless students have ZERO Hour) and dismiss at 3:13 p.m. Masks are required and must worn. Don't forget, Orientation for the Class of 2025 students and parents is TONIGHT, August 17th at 5:00 p.m. in the HSHS Auditorium. Please contact the HSHS Office with any questions.

Henry-Senachwine High School has a Cafeteria position available (Cafeteria Tech) for the 2021-2022 school year. Work hours would be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please email a letter of interest to Laurie Carroll, Food Service Director at lcarroll@hscud5.org by Friday August 20, 2021.

All student breakfasts and lunches will be free this school year, per the Illinois State Board of Education.

Updated Mask Guidance: Per the Governor’s Executive Order, effective immediately, masks are required to be worn indoors by all teachers, staff, students, visitors in all PK-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status. As a result, masks are required when indoors in any Henry-Senachwine School District building. This mask requirement also extends to indoor athletic events, practices, open gyms, weightlifting, etc.

HSCUD #5 is doing some storage clean-up and is having a rummage sale on Monday, July 26 and Wednesday, July 28 from 8 a.m. - 1p.m. in the HSGS/JH parking lot (near the white buildings by the playground). Older & used Items for sale include student desks, chairs, a variety of tables/desks, carts, cabinets, white boards, and other miscellaneous items. If interested, feel free to stop by to pick through some of the items. Payment for the items will be by donation

It's a Great Day To Be A Mallard! The Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2021 is this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Henry-Senachwine High School. All guests must have a ticket and masks are required. The link will be live right here in the Live Feed at 1:45 p.m.
