Dear Henry-Senachwine Families:

The Illinois Department of Public Health released its most recent guidance for schools.  Please note the following changes:

  • Siblings of an ill student do not have to be sent home, as long as the ill student is tested and results are provided within 24 hours of the first notification of symptoms. One exception to this rule would be if there is a high suspicion for contracting COVID-19 (e.g. ill student has loss of taste/smell, known close contact).  Siblings of the ill student would have to be masked indoors and outdoors, pending the results of the test.

  • Individuals with diarrhea or vomiting (even with a negative test) will need to stay out of school until 48 hours have passed without diarrhea and/or vomiting.
