Henry-Senachwine High School is proud to recognize four outstanding seniors who
have been named Class of 2026 Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student
Assistance Commission (ISAC). This prestigious honor is awarded annually to high-
achieving students across the state in recognition of exceptional academic performance
and strong potential for success in higher education.
This year’s Illinois State Scholars from Henry-Senachwine High School are: Waylon
Lindstrom, son of Aaron Lindstrom and Kimberly Hobson; Benjamin Meachum, son of
William and Joy Meachum; Taylor Rowe, daughter of Tim and Lynn Rowe; Brooklynn
Thompson, daughter of Dan and Melissa Thompson.
These students represent the top academic performers in Illinois, selected based on a
combination of class rank and standardized test scores. Fewer than 10 percent of
graduating seniors statewide earn this distinction each year.
“We are incredibly proud of Waylon, Benjamin, Taylor, and Brooklynn for earning this
well-deserved recognition,” said Principal Brock Zinke. “Their hard work, dedication, and
commitment to excellence exemplify the values of our school community. These
students are great role models for our younger students and we look forward to seeing
all they will accomplish in the future.”
The Illinois State Scholar Program has honored high-achieving students for more than
60 years and continues to celebrate academic excellence throughout the state. Henry-
Senachwine High School congratulates this year’s recipients and wishes them
continued success as they prepare for their postsecondary journeys.
