In October, the Henry-Senachwine High School Volleyball program teamed up with HSHS Gives Back to host this year’s Volley for a Cure event—an evening dedicated to raising awareness, supporting families, and honoring those affected by cancer. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, the event raised an impressive $3,876.86 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Funds were collected through T-shirt sales, raffles, concessions, and a bake sale, all made possible by student volunteers, supportive families, and local donors. The gym was filled with pink spirit as fans, players, and community members came together for a cause that touches so many lives.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our sponsors and supporters who helped make this event possible. A special thank-you goes to Ryan Anderson Law Office and Oak Glade Designs for their generous donation of the beautiful flowers used throughout the evening.
One of the most meaningful moments of the night came when several special guests—individuals whose lives have been touched by cancer—were recognized during a mid-match ceremony. Each Volleyball player presented a pink carnation to the honorees as a gesture of support, remembrance, and hope.
The Henry-Senachwine community once again showed what can be accomplished when we come together with purpose and compassion. Volley for a Cure continues to be a cherished tradition that not only raises critical funds but also strengthens our commitment to fighting cancer and supporting those in our community who are impacted by it.
