A bus transportation update from Henry-Senachwine Schools for tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, October 19, 2022: Tomorrow morning routes will run as normal, the changes below are for tomorrow afternoon only. For tomorrow afternoon, In town routes for “A” and “D” will be dropped first: These stops include: Child’s Park Second Street St. Mary’s Foley’s Stillwell’s Marshall Estates Autumn Ridge Out of town routes for “A” & “D” will be dropped off approximately 25 minutes later than normal. These stops include: Thunderbird 1150 Co. Road Western Ave. Thank you.

Congratulations to Olivia Bergfeld, Bella Gaspardo, Bobby Gaspardo, Kayleigh Lafferty, and Ben Meachum. They were all accepted to the ILMEA All-District 2 Senior Chorus. Kayleigh Lafferty also tried out for the Senior Vocal Jazz Choir and was accepted. Great Job Olivia, Bella, Bobby, Kayleigh, and Ben!

This week is Principal Appreciation Week and Principal Appreciation Day is on Friday. A big thank you to our principals, Mrs. Merboth and Dr. Hill, for all you do for our students, staff, & schools!

A bus transportation update from Henry-Senachwine Schools for tomorrow morning, Thursday, September, 22nd: Tomorrow morning, all of Route A will run 20 minutes early. Route A includes: Thunderbird Marshall Estates Child’s Park Second Street The following Route D bus stops will be picked up between 7:40 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. These stops include: Autumn Ridge Foley’s Stillwell’s St. Mary’s These changes are for tomorrow morning only. Tomorrow afternoon routes will run normal. Thank you.

A message from Henry-Senachwine Schools: Due to the continued heat in the buildings, Henry-Senachwine Schools will have an early release at 1:00 p.m. today (Wednesday, September 21st). There will be no afternoon pre-k classes today.

A message from Henry-Senachwine Schools: Due to the heat, Henry-Senachwine Schools will have an early release at 1:00 p.m. today (Tuesday, September 20th). There will be no afternoon pre-k classes today.

The following is a bus transportation update from Henry-Senachwine Schools: After school tomorrow (9/20), we will need to run two rounds of bus routes for students who ride bus A and bus D. Students who live in town and ride bus A and D will be picked up at HSGS/JH & HSHS and dropped off at their immediate in-town bus stop. Once finished, these buses will return to HSGS/JH & HSHS for a second round, to pick up the students who ride the out of town routes on bus A and D. Bus D travels southwest of town on Camp Grove Road and Western Ave. Bus A travels north of town toward Lake Thunderbird. Due to the fact there are two rounds of bus routes for A and D, there will be about a 20 minute delay for those students who ride the out of town routes. Again, this will be for the afternoon routes only tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

A message from Henry-Senachwine Schools: School bus route “E”, the bus route that goes over the Illinois River, will return to its normal morning and afternoon pickup/dropoff schedule starting tomorrow, Wed., September 7, 2022. Thank You.

Congratulations to 7th Grader Alex Tucker for placing 8th at the State Wrestling Championship in Rockford this past weekend. Alex is a member of the Timberwolves Wrestling Club in Sparland. He finished the season with a 20-6 record and is the first wrestler from the club to place and medal at State.

The Henry-Senachwine High School Prom is scheduled for May 7, 2022 at Shore Acres in Chillicothe. The Henry-Senachwine High School Post Prom Committee is making plans to host the 2022 Post Prom Party on Saturday, May 7th. The Post Prom Committee will meet tomorrow night, Thursday, March 10th, at 7:00 p.m. in the HSHS Media Center. Please enter the building through the main entrance as you would for games and other events. A message from Henry-Senachwine Schools: There is a lunchroom supervisor position open at HSGS/JH The working hours are from 10:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. If interested, email Food Service Director Laurie Carroll at lcarroll@hscud5.org by Monday, March 21. The start date for the position is April 4th.

Update on masks on school buses and vans: The CDC recently announced that it will no longer require individuals to wear masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems. As a result, masks will now be optional, not required, for individuals being transported on Henry-Senachwine School buses and vans. This change is effective immediately. Thank you.
