Thomas J. Urban Memorial Scholarship

The Thomas J. Urban Memorial Scholarship was established by the Urban Family in honor of Tom Urban, who as a lifelong educator, devoted family man and a person of great integrity, made a value-laden, lasting impression on the lives of the people he influenced. Mr. Urban served as the Henry-Senachwine School District Superintendent from 1999 to 2010. During his tenure he remained committed to his vision of a student-centered approach to education. Tom always kept student interests on the forefront, even when the most difficult decisions were to be made. As a result, he established himself as a respected leader among students, parents, teachers, administrators and the school community.

Those associated with Tom remember him as a man of action. Tom is remembered as a person who loved his family, his friends, being a family man and being an educator. Tom was always giving more of himself for the benefit of others. It is in memory of Mr. Thomas J. Urban that this scholarship was established.
